When J. A. Languet Construction’s success brought opportunities that were beyond its financial capabilities, Mr. Languet forged alliances with other contractors and entered into joint ventures to allow further growth and expansion. In 1994 it had over 140 employees and annual sales in excess of $15 million.
During this time period he also founded and managed an equipment rental company as well as several subcontracting companies specializing in masonry, concrete, steel erection and plumbing and heating.
Even though Languet Construction enjoyed a reputation as one of the best general contractors in the state, it often had to resort to legal action to collect money and defend claims from others. During this time Jon Languet worked closely with his attorneys, actively participating in lawsuits and arbitration.
The experience gained in preparing and organizing documents as well as planning legal strategy with counsel, formed the basis for his becoming a consultant to construction companies in Maine and Massachusetts. In addition to his J.D., Mr. Languet has an undergraduate degree in accounting and finance. The unique combination of real life experience, accounting degree and J.D., combine to give him the ability to provide advice to clients on everything from business formation, to litigation, to planning for retirement and business succession.

Over the past 12 years he has advised contractors on myriad issues including estimating, project management, dispute resolution and accounting software programs. He has worked with contractors to resolve both State and Federal tax problems and has used his contacts in the banking and insurance industries to assist clients in the expansion of their businesses.
His personal enthusiasm and optimism are evident in the way he interacts with clients, always there to support and encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of those men and women who have the courage to take the risks to create their own enterprises and carry forward the American dream of self reliance. |
